OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

Policy Statement

Management at MTA Transport understand our legal and moral obligations, and is committed to ensuring the safety, health and wellbeing of all employees, contractors, customers and visitors on our work sites. This policy is an outline of how we will achieve this and will form a framework to set measurable targets and objectives.

Objectives

The Management at MTA Transport is committed and will: 

  • Provide a safe and healthy place of work for employee’s, contractors, customers and visitors with the aim of eliminating workplace injuries 
     

  • Conduct regular Toolbox Meetings with staff to ensure adequate communication is established regarding OH&S topics 
     

  • Document and investigate all workplace incidents to ensure adequate corrective actions are applied.

    As part of our systems and processes we will:

  • Train, educate and communicate with employees, contractors and other interested parties in relation to OH&S in the workplace 
     

  • Establish measurable targets and objectives with the goal of eliminating workplace injuries 
     

  • Provide adequate personal protective equipment, resources and training to enable staff to work safely, and minimise risk of injury 
     

  • Comply with all relevant legislation and industry standards 
     

  • Consult with staff and contractors where relevant to enhance and improve the implementation of our policies and procedures 
     

  • Conduct regular Toolbox Meetings with staff to ensure adequate communication is established regarding OH&S topics 
     

  • Document and investigate all workplace incidents to ensure adequate corrective actions are applied 
     

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of workplaces, to ensure hazards are identified and controlled 
     

  • Provide inductions for all relevant interested parties in the company’s policies and procedures 
     

  • Ensure this policy is available to relevant interested parties 
     

  • Ensure our occupational health and safety management system is conformant to ISO 45001:2018 

Environmental Policy

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Policy Statement

MTA Transport is committed to providing services in a manner which ensures minimal impact on the environment. We will operate in compliance within all relevant environmental legislation and ensure our environmental management system continually improves through implementation of objectives and targets.

Objectives

The Management at MTA Transport is committed and will:

  • Ensure our processes have a minimal negative impact on the environment 
     

  • Train, educate and communicate with employees, contractors and other interested parties in relation to protection of the environment
     

  • Establish measurable targets and objectives with the goal of minimising our environmental impact 
     

  • Comply with relevant environmental legislation and regulatory requirements 
     

  • Document and investigate all workplace environmental incidents to ensure adequate corrective actions are applied 
     

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of workplaces, to ensure environmental hazards are identified and controlled
     

  • Ensure this policy is available to relevant interested parties 
     

  • Ensure our environmental management system is conformant to ISO 14001:2015
     


​Staff Responsibilities

While at work, regardless of their position, staff are responsible to:

  • Ensure minimisation of environmental impact where possible when in the workplace 
     

  • Consult with management and participate in inductions, toolbox meetings and training, to ensure workplace environmental hazards are identified and controlled appropriately 
     

  • Report all workplace environmental incidents and participate in investigations and corrective actions where deemed necessary by management

MTA Transport is a specialist provider of Heavy Haulage, Bulk and General transportation services Australia wide. Our management and staff are committed to providing high quality transportation services that meet and exceed our customer’s expectations.

Objectives

The Management and staff at MTA Transport are committed and will strive to: 

  • Provide an exceptionally high-quality level of transportation services to our customers
     

  • Manage our operations to ensure safe and efficient deliveries of freight occurs
     

  • Follow up on services provided, to ascertain that our goals and objectives are being achieved
     

As part of our systems and processes we will:

  • Train, educate and communicate with employees, contractors and other relevant interested parties in regard to this policy and quality expectations where necessary 
     

  • Ensure that this policy is retained as documented information, and available to interested parties
     

  • Define and meet objectives, by documenting and monitoring measurable quality targets
     

  • Comply to statutory, regulatory and other requirements
     

  • Apply a Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology to our Quality Management System
     

  • Apply Risk Based Thinking within our systems, operations and processes
     

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of workplaces, to ensure hazards are identified and controlled 
     

  • Conduct audits of key processes within the business as part of our Continual Improvement Process
     

  • Ensure our Quality Management System is conformant and certified to ISO 9001:2015
     

  • Review this policy annually
